Director

Darren Disney is an internationally recognised tap artist and industry professional, best known as an original cast member of the award-winning Dein Perry’s Tap Dogs. His career has taken him to Broadway, London’s West End and across 58 cities worldwide, performing on major international stages and television, including appearances on The Ellen Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Jerry Lewis Telethon and alongside Dame Edna. He has also performed with artists such as Tina Arena, Belinda Carlisle and C+C Music Factory.

Darren began his professional career with Regmat Australia and Dance Encore Productions. His theatre credits include 42nd Street, Me & My Girl and Mack & Mabel, along with extensive television work during the global success of Tap Dogs. He has also choreographed major productions and special events featuring Olivia Newton-John and Jon Stevens.

As an educator, he has taught at Brent Street, Sydney Dance Company, David Atkins Dynamite Studios, The McDonald College, Lee Academy and The Academy, and delivers workshops nationally alongside intensive training through his Central Coast studio, D3 Darren Disney Dance.

A respected adjudicator nationally and internationally, Darren has judged major competitions and national finals including Get The Beat Nationals, Showcase Championships, Dancelife Unite, Evolution National Finals and leading eisteddfods across Australia, as well as the New Zealand Dance Awards. He is also a Senior Examiner for the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus.

Most recently, he returned from the IDO World Tap Dance Championships in Prague as a coach for the Australian team and reunited with fellow commercial dancers on Rebel Wilson’s feature film The Deb.

With experience across performance, choreography, education and adjudication, Darren brings strong industry insight and a focus on musicality, performance quality and authenticity to every panel.
