Kurt Dawson


Kurt began tap and jazz lessons at age 3 and has completed to Gold star Tap and Bronze Star Jazz with the Australian Dance Association.
At age 7 he had the privilege to begin private lessons with Darren Disney, which eventually led him in to the Senior BTX Team with D3, and then a member of the D3 studio when his family moved to the Central Coast in late 2018.
Kurt was a member of the Australian Dance Ensemble when they performed in the USA in 2011 and 2014, and has also been a member of the Tap Ensemble for the Schools Spectacular for the last 3 years.
He has competed successfully at many eisteddfods state-wide as a solo performer and with D3 Xtream. Highlights would include being one of the youngest winners of the Weinkert Senior Tap Championship at City of Sydney Eisteddfod in 2017, being part of D3 Xtream upon receiving DanceLife Unite Nationals Small Group Award, and being chosen as the recipient of the Blochs Scholarship at Y.I.P.A last year. Kurt has also performed at many dance events as a member of the Forge Tap Group, and has been an active participant at the Sydney Tap Festival since its inauguration in 2017, then being chosen as a member of the Elite Residency in 2018, and in 2019 selected on to the Protege Team.
